Why a Beta?

The version being released is supposed to be almost the final code. Almost, because we have yet to fix any bugs to be revealed by those running the Beta.
We don't have any documentation yet, other than a very brief setup guide. Writing the docs will take another 1-2 months. Meanwhile, experienced users may benefit from the Beta release even without complete docs.

What are the changes?

As we said, we don't have the docs yet, thus no changelog understandable by non-developers. Nevertheless, here is a very brief summary of the changes:

1. tons of inherited shortcomings of the old 5.1x code are solved - almost everything that has been complained about.


2. scripts are autocreating almost all folders on the fly and autosensing for almost everything now.


3. tons of new features and options to adopt the forums to your site's needs.

Who is supposed to use this Beta?

NO newbies; ONLY experienced WebBBS users:

1. everybody upgrading from 5.0x or 5.1x (or older versions) should jump right to 5.30 and not waste time on 5.22 any more.


2. everybody running multiple forums (easier to upgrade.)


3. everybody running archives (various major improvements.)


4. everybody allowing upload of images to his/her server.

Our next step is to write the docs for 5.30. But surely it will take some time to get everything done. One to 2 months, at least.
