Change in release policy. *LINK* *PIC*
For the future the team has decided to offer two releases for download:

(1) the latest stable release
As the name implies this is considered a stable release and is meant to be used for production boards. Obviously the stable release is the one users should pick to run their websites with.
At the time of this writing the latest stable is 5.21. All further stable release will be 5.2x !

The stable release is the only one we're offering support for at the discussion board. Support means help for installs or trimming to the users needs.

(2) NEW: developmental snapshot-release
As you can see from the version information at the top of the forums portal page we have a *testing* release which we are running on this site for testing purpose.
In the future we'll make this version available for those experienced admins, who wish to see what we're working on and who are willing to participate in testing.
Alongside these snapshot-releases we'll make some preliminary docs available on a special read-only board:
0.530_Docs
ALL developmental versions will be prefixed with *0.* to indicate it's developmental and not meant to be used for production. At the time of this writing we're working on 0.530.21

Important note:
We hereby expressively state that the new developmental snapshots are NOT meant to be run in production and that we'll NOT spend any time on resurrecting any data if someone fails to understand this recommendation and looses data or functional boards!
These developmental snapshot-releases may or may not work and for sure will be rather incomplete in some parts. As well these releases are intended to ALWAYS be installed from scratch for each of the snapshots. We'll not spend time on any update procedures from one snapshot to the next.
NOTE that all these restrictions are meaningless as long as potential users follow the advice to use the snapshots for testing only.

When to expect the first developmental snapshot?
Well, as soon as possible :)

What's the developmental branch all about?
Basically it will end up in a complete rewrite of all the code.
To explain all this would go beyond a single announcement. Anyway to give you an idea of what we're doing we've taken a screenshot of our current ToDoList (which is rather incomplete still).

Discussion of this announcement goes to this board please:
