"portal" in a table-like format

Below is a screenshot showing part of a portal page. The site isn't online any more, so I can't link to it. The part shown is one out of a set of such little tables. Each showing a couple of board which are grouped somehow by topic. Between these tables pictures of interest resp. some text. Below the pictures at the bottom of the screenshot was the next portal table and so on.
In the left column are the telltale icons indicating new posts on a board.
