: Where will we get the $$ to lease a dedicated server for a
: project that will generate no revenue?
I didn't mean to lease one.
I thought about an older box someone may have and connect it to the internet using whatever broadband access he/she has.
Example: As I've understood John A.'s server is located at his place.
I thought you may have any similiar possibility to connect a server on whatever flatrate.
I could do, but I don't have setup a router enabling a DMZ or such and it would take me a long time to learn all necessary stuff.
From what you posted during the past I think you have the skills to maintain such a projects box.
Do you have any idea of how to host a box for free, using existing resources people have?
: No, my wording was precise, I did mean private. There are
: times where people feel comfortable discussing things on a
: private board that they would not discuss on a public
: board.
Ok, I do understand this.
: Also, once people who are not working on the script found
: this other public board they would start posting questions
: that belonged on the support forums and spam it trying to
: sell everything from airplanes to zippers.
Well, you're right again.
: I could be mistaken but I thought you asked a week or 2 ago
: if anyone knew of a private board where some discussion
: could be continued.
Can't recall. Sorry.
: He did care enough about the script to "can" Kevin,
: so it's possible that he might surprise us and
: participate.
Fine if he's willing to become part of the team.
: I think that good especially since there are lots of WebBBS
: boards out there with links to AWSD.com at the bottom.
That was part of my intention as well.
Reactivate the admins still running WebBBS.
