I guess I'll stick my face in here and make a related/unrelated comment or two.

I'm one of those users who has customized WebBBS so much that there's no turning back. I do appreciate the efforts toward W3C compliance. I'd also like to see a couple of things fixed: 1) Why user's passwords get lost and new ones have to be assigned. 2) The database slowdown on DBFile documented and/or corrected. My system is stable at this point (classified ads) and there is no reason to change from the WebBBS engine that drives it. The only exceptions would relate to security patches or simple and easy improvements.

As for using WebBBS as a plain bulletin board, I've gone beyond that and I've been spoiled with features beyond belief. Time is not available to join in with any major WebBBS rewrites.
