Tetra-WebBBS Support Forum
Good morning Jim.
: No problem, I cant believe you can remember all of the users
Obviously not all - I missed you
Honestly, my memory is quite good remembering users by nick and I know a lot of the sites where these scripts or the precessor is used for a longer period. Only sometimes I screw up relation of sites and nicks. ..... only, there are two "Jims" here who upgraded their sites almost at the same time. The other is Jim from transitchat.
: I upgraded to the stable release by just overwriting my lib as you
: said and have no issues..
Fine.
: I also did check out the pro demo.. I do like the multiple file
: upload function, but is it possible to not have gallery enabled,
: and use it just for posting images in single posts?
Yes.
Photo related are three features:
- multiple file upload
- image resizing on the fly and optional thumbnail creation
- gallery
All three can be enabled/disabled independent from the others.
: if I were to upgrade to pro, do all forums have to update to it? or
: is it possible to use it just on a few without having separate
: scripts folders?
That's more than one question and a complicated one
Probably the main question:
One can upgrade all forums (which makes sense) but still enable certain features only on a subset of forums.
E.g.: you have a total of 100 forums. 10 photo related. Then you may enable photo stuff only on those 10.
Configuration is independent from where the entry scripts are.
With PRO you only need one admin entry script and it can show all forums. But you may as well have multiple admin entry scripts showing subsets of the forums - e.g. have one entry script for admins with ALL forums and one only for the 10 photo forums from example above.
You may pipe more than one forum through one public entry script but you may as well use a separate public entry script for each forum (which most people prefer)
: Basically I just want users to be able to upload more than one
: image in their posts, dont necessarily need a gallery
.... and maybe enjoy image resizing on the fly. This helps a lot on forums with less experienced userbase. Resizing requires the GD library available on the server (check Perl modules for "GD" via link on debug output)
Hope this helps.
Rainer
