Hi Steve.

Though I haven't tested, it should be possible to enable the gallery for registered users only. However, then the pictures uploaded by non-registered users wouldn't show in the gallery either. The gallery works just like any other feature. It can be turned on/off for individual forums or for registered vs. unregistered users. But if it's off then of course the gallery index datafiles won't be written/updated when a user submits an image who isn't granted permission for the gallery feature. .... and if the gallery database file isn't updated, then of course others can't view those images in the database.

As always there is a workaround of course.
There is a tool to rebuild the database index files. For instance we can use it to build the gallery databases for archives or to get older images listed in the gallery index. If one disallows the gallery for unregistered users but "rebuilds" the gallery database with the rebuild tool, then the gallery database is complete again and priviledged users could view the full gallery including the images submitted by non-registered users.

One could run the tool on a scheduled basis. E.g. by cron every hour/day/week or whatever.
