I've forgotten ... the Format-Buttons in my forum are a custom-solution at all, it's not the plug-in. But I wonder why there are problems. I've used %FormatCode for example with this:

'{red}' => '<span class="red">',
'{/red}' => '</span>', 

In the real code I use [] instead of {}.

So I expect that the things I defined in %FormatCode would not be stripped in the quotes.
