Installation

For detailed instructions on setup of Tetra WebBBS from scratch or on upgrading prior versions of Tetra WebBBS or older implementations of Darryl Burgdorf's WebBBS please read the appropriate sections of the setup guide.

New Features

Tetra-WebBBS and .htaccess password protection
Access control to forums via .htaccess password protection is improved.
This enables webmasters to nicely integrate Tetra WebBBS forums into sections of their website which are password protected. For example by membership software allowing for .htaccess protection or other systems which set the "REMOTE_USER" environment variable.
Public and admin entry scripts are configured separately to allow for even more flexibility in setup.

Meta tags on message display pages
Message display pages (single or "flat" guestbook style) now generate "description" metatags.
This is an improvement to help some robots when indexing your site as well as improve display of your sites on social networks when your forum is utilizing social bookmarks or "Like" buttons.

Avatars on message display pages
Profile images may now optionally serve as avatars on single or "flat" guestbook style message display pages. For details please read DisplayAvatar on variables board.

Control listing of responses list on message display pages
A new variable allows to control if the threaded list of responses is visible on single message display pages. Certainly this is a GURU variable. But it was required for some special setup and is made available for those who may benefit. For details please read MsgThreadNoPrint on variables board.

Control display of poster name on message index listing if "flat" compressed listing is enabled
A new optional setting to allow or disallow display of poster names on "flat" compressed listing styles of the message index, which was introduced with Tetra WebBBS 6.10. For details please read CompressedList and IndexCompressedFlatThreadPoster on variables board.

Changes And Fixes

Image uploads are now available on admin side of the forums when editing posts.
Selection of images displayed with teasers on message index pages is improved. Images uploaded with TetraBB PRO multiple file upload are now utilized for teaser images as well. Furthermore the application is ready to autosense for thumbnails which will be available with TetraBB PRO version 0.30 soon. For details please read teaser_image on variables board.
