If $AllowSearch is set to '1' a link to the search form is displayed on the navigation. Clicking the link a searchform is displayed and allows for searching the forum visitied.
If this variable is set to '0' no searchlink is displayed and no searches are available.
Boolean 0/1

Disabling the search may be appropriate on some forums which are used for special purpose.
Furthermore disabling the search may be appropriate on larger forums which are hosted on shared accounts. This may be appropriate because searches are always expensive regarding usage of server ressources and excessive submission of searchforms (by spambots for example) will cause a high server load.
Of course it's possible to enable the search only for registered users, which would keep unregistered (bots) from accessing the form.
Note:
All searches are performed only on the forum viewed.
For searching a multiple forum site of course multiple searches must be performed. Well, unless the PRO search is installed.
