WebScripts by Darryl Burgdorf
Most visitors to this site probably know that Tetra-WebBBS is a successor to WebBBS, the once leading forum software programmed by Darryl Burgdorf. Darryl created a couple of other WebScripts back in the early days of the internet. Their home was awsd.com and it was a place where an overall very friendly community met to discuss issues with the WebScripts but as well discussed other topics regarding the new media internet and presenting stuff on the net. Those were the last years of the previous millenium. A great time for technically interested people.
By 2002 development of all WebScripts stopped. In 2006 Darryl finally
changed the license from shareware to a dual license model. As a
result Tetra-WebBBS was born as a successor to Darryls WebBBS.
Darryl kept his old awsd.com domain running for some time and then
sold the domain name. The new owner modernized the site. He kept
the WebScripts collection available for download but didn't further
develop any of the scripts.
Somewhen in September 2011 we noticed awsd.com was down and offered only
a brief note about changing its topic. At this point we contacted
Darryl to seek permission to give a new home to his WebScripts here
on tetrabb.com, the home of Tetra-WebBBS.
We're happy Darryl granted permission to edit the script headers to point
to this domain. Now it makes sense to offer them for download. Furthermore
we'll try to support the scripts as much as possible.
Note:
Though all of the following scripts are a bit aged, they are still useful and
can be recommended for sites which are in need for such tools.
The scripts are very robust and reliable. So don't hesitate
to check 'em out.
Support for the WebScripts is available either
(a) as free community support on our Support Forum
or
(b) as individual backstage support or install service (fee required).
